Friday's Rule!!! Red Alert!

Rule #3
Cupcakes must wear red lips and red nails!

Whether sunning ourselves in summer...

Waiting for Santa during winter...

Cosy gigs indoors...

Not so cosy gigs outdoors...

Whether blonde bombshell...

Or sultry brunette...

Radiant redhead...

Or even waiting for public transport...

The Cupcakes are always sporting their trademark red lips and red nails.
A true beauty statement of the 1940's and 50's.

Unfortunately, not all our followers adhere to the Cupcake rules!
Nicola Sturgeon MSP didn't get the memo,
but obviously still looking lovely!

The red lips we just about manage on our own but our beautiful red nails are all thanks to
our beauty sponsor, Me Time with Nicola.

We always come out looking Cupcake-tastic!

So ladies, grab the red lippy, varnish those nails and you are ready to paint the town...
Cupcake Style :)

And I'm feeling good!

Hey there peeps,

Cupcake Lisa here!

As most of you will know, we recently co-hosted another fabulous 1940's bash with the super That Swing Sensation big band, at The Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Park, with over 250 guests turning out on their Forties finest to dance the night away to hits of the Era. We decided on this occasion that we would support The Mark Wright Project, Dalkeith and were delighted that 3 representatives from the charity could attend on the night, including Mark's parents, Bob and Jem. After losing their son in Afganistan in 2006, the couple were motivated to start up a charity in his memory to support ex-Service men, women & their families "in addressing the invisible wounds of war, easing ex-Service men & women’s transition into civilian life". Their centre in Dalkeith offers a range of services including information and advice, gym facilities, complimentary therapy and mental health support.

The overwhelming generousity displayed by local businesses and our guests on the night helped us to raise a whopping £1351 for The Mark Wright Project at our Puttin' on the Blitz event and band leader Jon and I had the pleasure of handing over the cheque today, when we visited the centre. Nancy (in the photo) gave us a guided tour, explaining the services and support offered to all of their service users. The centre is a lovely, welcoming space and the staff super friendly.
We also met a lovely chap Buster who is embarking on a mighty expedition in support of the charity. He assures me he'll be sending me all the info and I'll stick by my promise to blog about his fundraising efforts when he does! A cycle to Lands end and swimming the Channel were on his list to do...crikey!

The Mark Wright Project have asked us to be a part of an event they are hosting at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh on Saturday 6th August to raise funds for the charity. Headlining will be none other than The Memphis Belle Orchestra, with The Kennedy Cupcakes and That Swing Sensation kick-starting a wonderful evening of dancing and entertainment...1940's style! Tickets go in sale next week and we'll be sure to keep you posted on how you can get yours! It's unmissable!

Today has been a good day! We are delighted to have the opportunity to visit The Mark Wright Project. It's a wonderful feeling to know the money raised will help the charity continue the invaluable services they offer that are so greatly needed by so many.

Toodle pip for now,

Lisa x

Mayday Mayday!

Ahoy there Mateys!

The SS Cupcake has set sail and we're steering towards a busy summer! Never ones to rest on our laurels, we like to ensure that we keep our audiences entertained with new routines, new costumes and some little surprises along the way!

Following the success of our first "sailor" routine, I, as Captain of the ship, decided the latest Cupcake routine should be a tap-tastic part deux, with the Cupcakes getting the chance to break in their Christmas pressies from tap shoes!

The choreography is coming along nicely and sounding AWESOME and in one Thursday night rehearsal brain wave, Cupcake Linzi and I agreed that another "prop" would add something to this routine! Until we realised......... IT ACTUALLY AINT THAT EASY TO FIND!!!!

So, this is where you guys come in!

We are looking for ROPE! Yes, rope. Not skipping ropes (although I did toil with the idea but thought taps and skipping ropes may land us in casualty!) and not rope to tow your car, sadly.
We need THICK this...

Can you help??? As B&Q can't, that's for sure!

If you can, please email us at or Facebook us! We'd be ever so grateful!

In the meantime, the Cupcakes will struggle on learning the ropes, using dish towels, scarves and anything they can find to do the job until you can steer us in the right direction!

Thanks me hearties!
